OMAR ASSAR: THE PIONEERING TABLE TENNIS STAR FROM EGYPT

Omar Assar became the first Egyptian and only the 2nd African to ever reach the final 8 at the World Table Tennis Championships in May. He ended up losing to world no.1 and eventual winner, Fan Zhendong. World Sport's Don Riddell has been catching up with Omar and looking at his emergence in the sport, and why he might just have a fellow Egyptian paying close attention to his talents.
